Sorry to blog and run yesterday! It's been a long night and day. I wanted to post an update for everyone. First, thank all of you for your support and prayers. We are 34 weeks, 6 days. Baby girl is hanging tough. I am 6 cm dilated and 50% effaced, but have not made progress since about 6 am (thank God). First big goal is to still be pregnant tomorrow. Overall goal is to get to Sunday (yeah, right). I am desperate not to have her share a birthday month with her brothers or the 6 other people in my family, myself included. Plus, everyday I can give her is a gift. I'm super sore but I am refusing an epidural until we are progressing steadily. There is a picture of Conner and Ben next to me, and we have a giraffe and puppy to give her when she gets here from her brothers.
I didn't know I was in labor. When the resident ob told me, happily, that I was 4 cm dilated, I almost kicked her in the face. I bawled my eyes out instead. Baby C will need NICU time, and my fear of not being able to hold her when she is born is definitely reality now. But I have to remember... if we had gotten the boys this far, it would have been a "game changer" as my nurse has said. So for this huge milestone of 34 and 6, I am grateful.
So happy to read your update. 34 weeks 6 days is a huge milestone! Praying for you and baby C! Anna
ReplyDeleteThank you Anna! And yes, what a great milestone. Hoping to make other milestones as well!
DeleteGlad things are staying somewhat steady. Keep in mind, NICU doesn't necessarily mean you can't hold her. I held my sweet P a lot and even fed him while he was in there. He came home at not quite 5 lbs if I remember correctly. Sending lots of love and strength your way. Many people praying for you and special angels watching over you <3
ReplyDeleteYou are right. I know if she goes to the NICU, I'll get to hold her there. I just really want to hold her as soon as she is out! Thank you so much for your support and prayers. I was thinking of Preston while I was in the hospital, and how he was born a bit early but healthy. It gave me a lot of strength.
DeleteGlad things are stable. You have been in my thoughts and I will continue to wish for strength and light for you and your little girl. Hoping she stays put for a bit longer. xxx.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteOh my goodness Krystal! Praying for you and baby girl and hoping for every additional HOUR she can keep cooking. I will pray she is able to wait until Sunday but even if not, every additional hour is a gift. I will be thinking of you all. Sending big hugs and hoping things go smoothly! Lots of love!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so right - ANY time I can give her is a gift. Thank you so much Chickin!
DeleteHang in there! Prayers for you, Tim and baby.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteMany prayers for you and for baby girl! Hoping for strength for you all in this waiting time. Thanks for keeping us updated as we support you from afar!
ReplyDeleteThank you Elizabeth!
DeleteI'm glad baby C is cooperating. Hopefully you can make it a few more days. I've been praying, and will continue to pray, for you. I also let the pgAL group on the loss board know that you are in labor.
ReplyDeleteThank you Amanda! And thank you for posting this on the PgAL check in. All the well wishes on the check in really gave me strength while I was in the hospital.
DeleteKrystal, you got this. Today you are 35 weeks and you are going to be holding your baby soon. I know the NICU can be a scary place, but you will get through it, and be home with your daughter soon. I didn't get to hold Raegan after she was born either and she was late! Sometimes births don't go according to plan. It was hard for me to accept that ours didn't either. I pray that she will stay in as long as possible and keep cooking! Can't wait to meet your precious one!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Ashley. You're right - thats why I threw out my birth plan! I hope you and Raegan are well.
DeleteThanks for keeping us updated Krystal. Praying baby C stays put for a while~
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Baby Girl is happily still baking - of course, continued prayers for you both to stay healthy!!! can't wait to hear the next update!!
ReplyDeleteThinking about you! Keep us updated girl!!!
