Two little boys

Today has been a little rough.  Well... more like the past month has been rough.  I feel everyday gets a bit harder, and I think that is because their due date and Mother's day is around the corner.  The boys were due May 12th (the day after Mother's Day), but we were expecting to bring them home in mid or late April.  My mind drifted today to our gender reveal to our families on Christmas.  It was two days after our 20 week ultrasound, and we were so excited to tell everyone what the babies were (although we were pretty sure they were boys at the 16 week ultrasound).  I stayed up all night wrapping these monster boxes but it was totally worth it.

Everyone was shocked.  I think most people thought I'd have one of each, or two girls.  No one - and I mean no one - guessed two boys EXCEPT THIS GIRL RIGHT HERE.  I knew it.  I called them my little guys right from the first ultrasounds and when we saw two little firehoses on the screen, I looked over at my husband and said, "I knew it."  The ultrasound tech must have been wondering why I wasn't screaming for joy - I was happy, of course, but she wasn't telling me anything I didn't already know.  I had boys clothes and toys piling up in their nursery since they were like, oh, I don't know... 10 weeks?  If she had told me they were girls I would have fallen off the table in shock.

The balloons weren't even deflated by the time Conner and Benjamin were born.

Christmas, you are going to suck next year.
